These are the principles that guide our work.
By adhering to these values we hope to inspire our community and create a sustainable organization and legacy for our daughters, nieces, and mentees to continue.
Belief in God
Our belief in God is what drives us. We have a mission on earth to live a life with purpose higher than self. As Muslim women we know it is our duty to support all of humanity and be the change we wish to see in the world.
Belief in People
We believe that the most successful organizations collaborate with other agencies to support the needs of the community. We invest in people because we believe in them and their vision. Our organization can accomplish more if it attempts to complement the existing resources available in the community rather than duplicate them. By supporting existing initiatives in Tampa Bay, and the people who direct them, we learn ways to support our local Muslim community as well.
Trust
We are committed to careful stewardship of all human, natural and financial resources. This means we use carefully the time of our members and we spend wisely the funds invested in us. In addition, we will be environmentally responsible by utilizing eco-friendly means to promote our organization.
Diversity
Our group comprises women of diverse backgrounds who are united in faith. We celebrate, respect, and support the diversity of those living in the Tampa Bay Area regardless of–but not limited to–faith, culture, or political ideology.
High Standards
We hold our Board of Directors, Members, and grantees to the highest possible standards. Our faith teaches us that God has prescribed perfection in all things. We strive for excellence in everything we do. In turn, we hope to be shining examples in the communities we live in and serve.
Empowerment
We are dedicated to empowering our Muslim community by engaging them with the amazing people and organizations around Tampa Bay who work tirelessly to make our communities happier, healthier, cleaner and safer to live.
Integrity
Our organization will nominate and support honorable initiatives in the community. We trust our grantees to carry out the work they do and to use the organization's resources with integrity and honesty. We will also conduct our work in a way that is honest, transparent and ethical.
