Saadia Ahmed, Advisory Board Chair

Saadia Ahmed graduated in International Studies from Austin College where she intensified her commitment to serving the community. She is a community and thought leader in Dallas/Fort Worth in addition to being the founder and adviser to numerous nonprofit and community initiatives; including being a Board Member at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Faith in Texas, American Muslim Professionals of Dallas, and Women Organizing Women Democrats. She also founded the women's empowerment group Strong Muslimah and Young Muslimah mentorship program for middle and high school girls. Her work in the advocacy field includes roles at various local, state, and national political campaigns. 

Saadia's areas of expertise include youth development programs, women's empowerment initiatives, special needs advocacy, community building, event planning, social media optimization, individual major giving, DEI training, and annual fund development. Saadia is fluent in English and Bengali. She has professional working proficiency in Hindi, Urdu, and French. She was awarded the “Trailblazer” award by Texas Muslim Women’s Foundation, “ the Community Leader of the Year” award by CAIR Dallas/Fort Worth, and was the inaugural recipient of Radio Azad’s “Unsung Hero” recognition. She is currently also a Chaplaincy student at Bayan/Chicago Theological Seminary. She lives in Frisco, Texas with her husband and daughter.

Sameena Karmally, Advisory Board Vice-Chair

Sameena Karmally is a former private equity attorney who practices estate planning law. She is a former board member of the ACLU, the Texas Muslim Women's Foundation, and the National Association of Muslim Lawyers. She founded the DFW Muslim Bar Association and is a former Girl Scout troop leader. She is currently a PTA Board member and speaker with the GEM Civic Hub. She remains active in grassroots advocacy and political campaigns.

Bisan Shalabi

Bisan Shalabi has a degree in Applied Technology and Performance Improvement with a passion for research-based practices. As a previous co-owner of a salon, she implemented innovative structures to enhance workforce performance and foster innovation. Committed to community service, Bisan is driven by a deep-seated passion for helping others thrive. Bisan loves cooking up new recipes and cherishes spending quality time with her husband and three kids.

Kendria Nyang

Kendria Nyang is originally from Wichita, KS where she became a Registered Nurse. She discovered a passion for working with seniors and channeled that into a career. At her adult day care for seniors with dementia and adults with disabilities, Uplift 100, she serves as the Care Coordinator helping families navigate challenges that may arise while being a caregiver. Volunteering with the Alzheimer’s Association she is able to provide education, resources, and a support group. Kendria is a loving, devoted wife and girl mom to her five sweet daughters and enjoys traveling and watching TV.

 

Nosayba Mahmoud

Nosayba Mahmoud is a passionate advocate for human rights, social justice, and community empowerment. With a background in business administration and human resources, she has dedicated her life to serving others. As a community organizer, youth mentor, and elections judge, she has tirelessly worked to ensure fair representation and inclusion for all. Currently pursuing a master's degree in Islamic chaplaincy, Nosayba aspires to serve as a community/movement chaplain, providing support and guidance to those in need. Her commitment to bridging gaps and empowering marginalized communities is evident in her work, including her efforts to establish polling sites in Islamic institutions and involve Muslim youth in the electoral process. As an advocate for Muslim students and parents in her local public school district, she was recognized for her volunteer work at the district level. As a new board member, Nosayba is excited to tap into our collective power to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Lail Hossain

Lail Hossain is the innovative Founder and CEO of WithASpin, a trailblazing brand that specializes in modern home decor and gifts designed to inspire faith and gratitude. Combining her software engineering and systems implementation background with a deep passion for creating unique, faith-inspired products, Lail’s work embodies a bridge between traditional Islamic culture and contemporary design, making WithASpin a beacon for modern Muslim households worldwide. Lail’s work has been featured on Forbes, NYTimes, Apartment Therapy, and more. In her spare time, Lail loves to hangout with her family, travel the world, garden and volunteer in her local community.

 

Dr. Zara Nensey

Zara Nensey is a Floridian who recently made her way over to Dallas. She completed her undergrad and dental school at Boston University at their accelerated liberal arts/dental program. After seven years in the frigid snow, she moved to Miami to complete her pediatric dental residency at Miami Children's Hospital where she served as chief resident. She worked as a pediatric dentist in her hometown of Tampa where she also joined the original 200MWWC, eventually serving as their community partnership chair. When she's not making children smile, Zara is traveling, hiking, and making dessert.

Subia Ahmad

Subia Ahmad has a 20 year background in nonprofit fundraising and communications with a specialization in multicultural outreach and community building. She volunteers with numerous local organizations, including serving as president of a local elementary PTA. Subia has lived in Frisco for eight years with her husband, two sons and two dogs.
